Starlight & The Silence
-Art Direction & Illustration (2025)
I stood on the edge of a quiet highway, not lost—just still.
The world hummed with distance, whispers of thunder.
A Formula One car splits the horizon, comet on wheels.
Starlight, the white rabbit, caught in the furious madness, a storm of speed and light.
Faster than thought, I flew to free the rabbit with my trembling hands.
It shook like a soul newly born, touched by fear, still carrying the echo of the engine roar.
In between, the world dissolved.
I stood in a room white as memory, Gizma, the cat, back from the other side. Curious, flickering, familiar.
I knew her spirit, sharp and wild. I hesitated, but still I brought the rabbit closer. As foretold in the logic of dreams, she struck. I struck back then, choosing to protect this new, tender self, even at the cost of confronting the shadow of the past. Regret, metallic feelings, like the ache of a song unfinished. I still miss her.
Behind me, a glowing door begins to shine golden from within, like a star remembering her long-forgotten name.
In between, the world dissolved.
I stood in a room of my childhood, my father walking close to me with his oversized green work sweater. Starlight is lying on a table made of light, and he, with calm beyond time, tends to her wounds. Two golden spirits, a plump cat and a joyful dog, sun-bodied, cloud-footed.
They danced around Starlight, welcoming her with innocent joy. My father looked at me. He speaks, but there is no sound, only ripples through space and time, waves of wisdom spoken in the language that only dreamers remember.
In between, I dissolved into the world

Dawn: Absorbed in their regular tasks of worldly socialization, fruits and vegetables were
attacked and later absorbed by the Hunger.
Sunset: Dead and chewed, they went down the stomach and turned into Quimos. Exposed to this new world, clumsy and terrified, they decided to hold on to the nothingness. It was something that they lacked. They created a religion based on water as their great savior, which was also a good exercise to pass the time while they fed on the gastric acids that abounded in the environment. Unfortunately, this food was also a deadly poison to their bodies. The law dictated that those who were newly arrived had to bury the dead on the sacred hill of the stomach, which after absorbing the greatest amount of proteins and vitamins out of their bodies, expelled their remains through the hole of the anus in the form of poop.
Twilight: When the excrement finally makes contact with the water of the river in the valley of the mountain chain, on the continent in the planet of the universe of the Hunger, which nourishes itself with those fruits and vegetables, in a multidimensional microbionic bacterial mutant level, they will be reborn as the beings whom they dreamed one day they would be converted into.

Nothingness: The windows were round, useless, since outside all was darkness and silence. The Nothingness swallowed light, gravity, and purpose. There was no time, so existence seemed to have no explanation, no reason for being; it simply was.
The Journey: The message, clear and hopeful, traveled in his small ship from sun to sun in search of others like him.
Existence: His movements, soft and imperceptible vibrations dancing at the bottom of an abyss, transformed reality into electromagnetism.
The Purpose: He constantly sends signals through tiny electrical impulses that cross the cosmos, searching for similar binary reactions that wander in the immense and vast desolation of space.
Death: He will die without ever finding another like him.

Every morning upon waking, the first thing that spits my conscience is your name.
Immediately, I feel my stomach clench at the same time that my mind laughs at the irony of my own existence.
Sometimes I think there are two beings within me, one that fights, shouts and kicks for forgetting and another that clings to the sweet taste of the past and memories.
I witness how our secret language slowly fades, but for some strange reason my brain keeps going around the traces of your essence.
I don't understand what happens, I feel the confusion and I have forgotten who I am ... maybe I never knew.
You never want to venture with me, you raised a high wall and very difficult to climb.
In her bright eyes and in her flirtatious smile I can see what love found in the kisses of one more being.
I just want to forget, but the more I try, the more the fantasy of reunion seems to cling to me.
I am tirelessly terrified of the idea of forever missing the embrace of your soul by rocking me in your arms.
I understand that you will never hold my hand again to face the unknown.
